The Love of a Mother

The Love of a Mother

From kissing boo-boos

to tying shoes,

she rocked her babes to sleep

with a love of depths so deep.

A mother’s love never wanes

through all of her life’s hurricanes.

No greater is the bond that binds.

A better woman you’ll never find.

However was I ever blessed

with all of our God’s righteousness,

found in the love of my mother.

From hugs and kisses

to weekend blisses,

she never missed a Sunday one

of carting us to church alone

for in her heart shone love so bright,

I liken it to dynamite.

Her goodness shines for all to see.

A fine example she’ll always be

to kids of young and kids of old;

be the light, and make it bold.

A selfless heart the truth be told.

Her smile is precious, as is gold.

I hope that one day, I can be

half the woman she is to me.

I’ll say it now and say it clear

A mother’s love I hold so dear.

My greatest joys and I.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, aunts, grandmothers, Godmothers, and special women, who make the world go round! It’s not for the faint of heart, for it will change your life in so many ways you never expected. We’ll cry more, smile more, hug more, love more, worry more, and be exhausted more. In return, we’ll always have the unwavering love of our children. It gives life so much more meaning. They count on us. They need our attention and direction more than ever in a world where it’s easy to lose their way. Let us be present. Let us be love. Let us be guidance. Let us nurture and help them find their way in this great big world.

Wishing you all the best! Thanks so much for stopping in! To get my latest updates, be sure to drop your email address. Until next time…xo, Christy
